Project Description

The 62-acre site is adjacent to the original 160-acre Vista View Regional Park, constructed on a former landfill. The proposed park expansion area was formerly farmland. The work involves master planning, schematic design, permitting and site plan approval, community involvement, design development, construction documents, construction services, and post-construction services.

The development program includes: a major universal access playground; picnic facilities, including picnic shelters and rest rooms; basketball courts; accessible fishing and boating docks; nature trails with ecological interpretive signage; equestrian facilities with horse wash area, trails, corral and horse trailer parking area; multi-purpose trails with exercise stations; a gatehouse; maintenance facility, and a park administrative office building.

The primary purposes of the project are to help acquire and preserve an easily accessible open space and recreational area. The park will be utilized for a combination of resource conservation and active/passive recreation purposes. The project will enhance and restore some ecological value to the site by creating areas of native vegetation for conservation, recreational, and educational uses.
